Orange Marmalade

//  Leave a Comment

Jar of Orange Marmalade made by Friends Drift Inn

$10.00

Blame it on the snowbirds for making orange marmalade a central Appalachian favorite! So many of our folks have migrated to sunny Florida – and come Christmas they bring back loads of fresh oranges to share with family and friends. Our orange marmalade features sweet oranges and peels, more fresh squeezed orange juice flavor than a bitter orange peel. Made popular by Paddington Bear, orange marmalade is the perfect spread for toast. Stir it into hot tea. Divine as a surprise smeared on chocolate s’mores. Even better as a glaze for chicken or ham. Snowbirds – we thank y’all!

Orange Marmalade Serving Suggestions

Maybe the Brits are right, every breakfast should feature orange marmalade spread on toast or a bagel.

Feeling naughty?  Pair with chocolate waffles.  Orange and chocolate just goes together.

But we love orange marmalade as a meat glaze too!  The citrus brightens up orange marmalade chicken wings and holiday meatballs too!   Wonderful with pork.

Add a zip to baked goods like muffins or cakes.  The ultimate filling for thumbprint cookies!  Oh!  Warm and thin with a little bourbon and use as a glaze for fruitcakes.

Check out our recipes using marmalade in all sorts of dishes!

Friends Drift Inn Marmalade – We Need More!

Obviously, we don’t grow citrus here in Kentucky’s Appalachia.  But we do grow many fruits and vegetables that work with citrus.  We will be rolling out other citrus jams and marmalades in the coming months.
