Tammy Horn is “Kentucky’s Bee Lady.”

To tell you Tammy Horn and Perry Amos of Coal Country Beeworks are my friends is like telling you the sky is blue. There is so much more to the story.

I believe Tammy Horn and Perry Amos are food heroes.

I believe in their dream to reinvigorate the dwindling honeybee population by isolating bees for reproduction on reclaimed surface mines. Our Appalachian Mountains are not a barrier to development but rather a refuge for progress and renewal.

Saving honeybees is a forward thinking mission, not just for Appalachia but for the whole world. Without farms, we do not eat. Without honeybees, we shall surely starve.
